Silicon Valley Season 3 Episode 6, Double Double Spoilers and Trouble
You ever have the urge to move a pool? Just like, you know, to get it closer. But then you move it back because it was in the right place before. And after all of this, you run out of money. Weird how that works. This week’s episode was filled with shit metaphorically hitting the fan left and right, with “Bachmanity Insanity”, the party Ehrlich was planning to debut his new incubator with Nelson Bighetti’s money. The duo thought that their party and other extravagant purchases were sure to impress their old girlfriends. So now, Pied Piper, along with all their other business ventures, is functionally out of money. Not to mention that Gavin Belson is looking for the unnamed source that talked about his scrub-scandal (Bighetti) because that person violated their non-disclosure agreement, meaning he could lose all his money (which they don’t have). Also, no bong rips so not a great episode all around for either.
Elsewhere, Richard gets caught up with his surprisingly hot girlfriend in a tech debate. Because of Richard’s horrible neurosis, he gets so worked up that he breaks up with her. All of this happens while Jared is having a revolving door of girls coming in and out of his garage/server room/bedroom. The only analogy that comes to mind for viewers to describe Jared’s unreal performance in this episode is similar to an asexual organism deciding one day, “You know this lifestyle isn’t for me. Time to make up for lost time.”
Dinesh tries to flirt with an Estonian Pied Piper engineer the entire episode. He works to improve the video chat connection so that they can see each other better, only to get dumped once she gets a good look at Dinesh. Better go to a Venetian mask party next time, bro. Then at least you could talk to her for a little.
As for next episode, I expect a fight to come out of Hooli; while Ehrlich will somehow manage to finesse his way out of it. More engineering to come as well because this episode was filled with failed and awkward social interactions (except Jared—nice) so more stuff about Pied Piper for sure.
What not to expect?: Richard having another girlfriend, Dinesh having self-esteem, and Pied Piper having money. All fun.
