The Filthiest Limerick
I went to the city of Limerick
A place where Irish accents were quite thick
Now I must break form
And give up rhyming norms…
To tell you that Limerick, Ireland is a gray post-industrial dirt clump of a city
Kind of like Hartford, Connecticut
But with the occasional run-down castle
No, not quaint old museum-like ones
These castles look flat-out broken
And imagine these collapsing stone structures next to the smog-belching factories
The thumbnail image seems pretty representative of Limerick
Maybe my expectations were too high, or something
Nobody spoke in verse of three long and two short lines rhyming aabba
And, you know, that pissed me off
